General Practice

General Practice means that the attorney does not limit their law practice or specialty to one particular area of law. Instead the attorney will practice law in several areas such as criminal law, accident and personal injury law, bankruptcy, business law, family law, estate planning, insurance law, litigation, and real estate.

Civil Litigation

Civil litigation is a term of art which distinguishes lawyer Court work in the non-criminal stream of actions in law. It encompasses not just the representations made in Court but also the pre-trial procedures including interlocutory hearings, and the port-trial procedures such as costs and enforcement of a judgment.

Landlord–tenant law is a part of the common law that details the rights and duties of landlords and tenants. It includes elements of both real property law (specifically conveyances) and contract law.

Business Disputes

Business disputes are an inevitable and unavoidable cost of running a business. Typically a business dispute arises between businesses when they disagree over the terms of a contract that binds both parties, but a business dispute can occur in any number of ways.

Criminal Appeals

The Court of Appeals has statewide appellate jurisdiction of all cases except those involving constitutional questions, murder, and habeas corpus cases where original appellate jurisdiction lies with the Supreme Court.

Domestic Violence/Battery

“Domestic violence and battery are very serious issues that can oftentimes drastically affect a family. If you feel that you’ve experienced any kind of domestic violence please contact us right away. There are free resources out there to help you obtain a restraining order or family violence protective order. However, oftentimes that is not enough and you may need to consider recovering money or other types of relief from the aggressor.”
