Civil litigation refers to all kinds of non-criminal cases that are litigated in court or an administrative agency. It encompasses pre-trial procedure such as discovery, motions as well as the trial itself. However, it does not include collection efforts after obtaining a judgment nor appeals unless a second retainer is entered into.
